Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Walkthrough and Strategy Wiki SuperGuide

General Tips

-Get Your Bearings
As obvious as it sounds, the first thing you can do to improve your game is to learn the maps inside and out. And with only two currently available in the beta, this shouldn't take too much time. Memorizing player and power weapon spawn points immediately give you an edge over the competition.

On the same topic, get a feel for the type of player that you're facing off against. If your team is getting picked off by a camper, use your knowledge of the map to find a way to flank him. Likewise, if your opponents continually charge down the center of the arena, find a comfortable spot to cozy up and pick them off as they keep making the same mistake.

-Cover Up
One of the fundamental aspects of movement in the Uncharted series is its cover mechanic. It works well enough by keeping you fairly well-protected against small-arms fire, and you can blind-fire from behind cover. Unfortunately, the cover button is the same button you press to roll and dive.

Be careful about when you hit the 'O' button, since you might accidentally dive instead of stick to the nearest wall. Or, you could be taking cover when you actually wanted to dive out of the way.

When attacking enemies that are behind cover, your goal should be to force them out of it. Use grenades if you have them, or if you're quick enough, get next to them and melee your enemy. The opposing player will usually have to spend precious moments re-orienting the camera when moving in and out of cover, so use those moments to try and get a melee kill.

If you do want to attack a covered enemy with firearms, aim down the sights and try to go for the small portion of the body that is often exposed. While this may not kill your enemy, it will force them to re-consider that specific spot of cover.

-Ammu-Nation
Running out of ammunition makes you die like a chump. Because of this, your first purchase should be the "Daredevil" Booster. At a scant $8,000, this perk will allow you to gain ammunition by taunting over the body of a downed opponent. Now not only can you throw humility out the window, but you can gain an extra clip while you're at it.

And as obvious as it sounds, we're going to keep in saying it; make sure you go into a firefight with a full clip. Reloading your gun whenever you have a moment to breath has been a staple in every competitive FPS, but there's a reason that some cliches are classics.

Mode-Specific Tips

-1st and Goal
Think of Plunder as a football game. Don't make every decision with touchdown in mind. A lot of the games boil down to a long skirmish at the center of the map with each team advancing the treasure only a few steps before getting killed. Instead of grabbing the treasure in the middle of a firefight, concentrate on picking off the players who are focused only on the gold. The time it takes them to respawn, plus the distance they'll be from the treasure, make strategic kills far more important than advancing the flag a few feet.

-Communication is Key
Communication is vital in team-based shooters, and
Uncharted 3's "Team Objective" mode is no exception. As the goal of each round rotates, being able to inform your teammates of your intentions is key to success. Being able to delegate duties in King of the Hill is the crucial element that separates the winners from the losers. If you want to compete against a group of level 30+ players, strap on your headset before you loadthe beta.

Airstrip Tips

-Con Air Redux
When you start out as one of the heroes, your goal is to defend the plane. The easiest way to do that is to communicate with your team and have one person cover each side door while the rest takes cover near the back. The side entrances are narrow enough to be easily defended by one person. The back hatch of the plane is much larger, which necessitates a greater force to defend it.

The attackers' trucks offer some decent cover for the opposing team, so it's best to wait until you see them jumping from truck to truck. Save your grenades until you see many of them in one truck, or until they actually start making their way up the loading ramp. Just as with the attacking team, you'll be in a confined space, so grenades could be a problem.

If you want to be sneaky, you could take to the offensive against the attacking team. Sneak onto one of the trucks through any of the plane's side doors. Then work your way along the trucks until you spot an opportunity to attack. Hopefully, the attacking team will be too busy fighting their way up the ramp to notice you.

If you spawn into the map as a villain, your tactics switch up a bit. As the trucks position themselves for you to jump across, stay in cover. If you're planning to assault the back of the plane, use grenades as you approach. Don't go at this alone - moving in a group will work better to overpower the defending team.

Once you make your way inside, watch out for the defenders' grenades. There's isn't a whole lot of room to move in the cargo hold, but try not to get stick too close to your teammates. One grenade could kill the lot of you.

If you're attacking the plane, keep an eye out for a gap in defense at one of the side doors. If you can sneak in and pick off a few of the heroes, your team's spawn points will reverse, allowing you to rack up your kills before the cargo plane takes off.

-The Warehouse
Once you make it to the warehouse, your best bet may be to find higher ground. By setting your team up on one of the upper levels of the roof, you'll not only have a clear view of the arena, but you'll also be able to spot anyone trying to make their way towards the turret.Near the base of the air traffic control tower is a machine gun emplacement. If you decide to mount this gun, have someone watch your blindspots, or you can be easily flanked.

600x300

There are also bulletproof riot shields in one of the cargo containers. These will defend against small-arms fire, even from the fixed machine gun, but explosives will prove a problem. While you can survive grenades (provided you have the shield facing the grenade), you will get knocked back. This will give your opponents ample opportunity to shoot or melee you.

Chateau Tips

The buddy system works wonders in this level. So many of the firefights occur in when two people meet in a tight corridor. The winner is usually the guy who pulled the trigger first. However, if you and a buddy roll down a hallway together and encounter a lone enemy, your combined fire will bring him down in no time at all.

600x300

There are two machine gun emplacements in this level: one in the "front" and one in the "back." The guns can do serious damage, but are easily flanked. If you're brave enough to man one of these, try and have someone watch your back.

If you're trying to deal with someone behind a machine gun, try to flank them. Each of the emplacements can be attacked from the sides or the rear, where the gun can swivel to. Or, if you've picked up a rocket launcher, a direct hit to the gun is enough the knock back the operator.

The back of the chateau also has a zip line that goes from the second story of the ruined building all the way to the corner of the back area, right below the machine gun. If you take this zip line, you'll be exposed for the few seconds you're travelling. But, you're moving so fast that you might be too hard of a target to hit for most players.

Yemen Tips

600x300

There is one machine gun mounted on a rooftop near the center of the map. We would recommend not jumping behind this, as you can easily be hit from behind. If you are brave enough to get on the machine gun, you have a fairly clear field of fire onto the ground below, as well as into any open windows and doors, or balconies in front of you.

600x300

There are also two towers that can be climbed. You'll find decent cover here, as well as a view of most of the central part of the map. Don't think about camping here too long, however, as grenades can easily be tossed up here from below.

Because of the narrow alleys, you could easily turn a corner and run right into an enemy. Be ready to spam the melee button just in case. Blind fire can also be effective when caught in a chokepoint.

600x300

If you're playing with a team, always watch your buddy's back when he or she is climbing up a ladder. Because of the open windows, there are sniping spots all over the place, and you don't want to move without cover from someone.
